Caroline’s Custom Saab 9-3

In the custom section of the festival, we saw quite a lot of exciting Saabs in different shapes and colors. This red beauty, caught our eyes.

What was that console in the middle of back seat? It resembled the battery pack in the Saab ePower.

We were informed that it wasn’t a battery pack by the car’s owner and creator – Caroline. Caroline has been working on the car for 7 months and it’s still not fully complete. We wondered where she learned all these skills and she told us that she had been studying technology/mechanics but was now employed at Koenigsegg.

That explained the ghost. Koenigsegg is located in Ängelholm in an old airbase. The ghost was the sign for the squadron located at F10, Ängelholm.

The ghost can be spotted on Koenigsegg cars and on the Saab AJS Viggen below.

What a great car!

Hello and greetings from Singapore!

Firstly, will like to congratulate the new refreshed SAABSUNITED page as well as the new Svenska Saabklubben Team for taking over this fabulous site that all SAAB Fanatics globally have grown to love and to appreciate over the years.

Personally used to have had the pleasure of 5 SAABs and it has been nothing short of an exciting journey and relatively fuss free.

Unique Yellow TX from Canada.

Hi Robin,

I’m the original owner of this TX in Vancouver, Canada and it’s my favourite car thus far. It’s sad to see Saab being sold multiple times and Spyker going under. IMO Aileron is truly a masterpiece with beautifully crafted exterior and interior.

Let’s hope for a better 2015 for our beloved Swedish brand as well as Muller and Spyker.
Happy New Year to my fellow Saabers!

The upgrades on my TX include:

Sotw, nice pair of 9-3’s in Michigan.

Zoltan and Elena from Michigan send us a few pictures of their “Saabs United”

Hi Robin!

These are our “Saabs united”. The blue one was bought during SAAB’s bankruptcy and I thought that this is going to be our last SAAB ever. This was my third SAAB and I was quite sad and sentimental about the departure of our beloved brand. On the contrary I felt lucky that I was able to purchase one last brand new SAAB.  A few years later I came across an advertisement from the local Volvo dealer about a 2011 Sports Wagon. We always wanted to get a wagon but they are really hard to find in the USA now a days,  specially a recent model with low mileage. I have done all the improvements on the 2010 9-3 that I could think of…DRL’s ambient interior lights, tinted windows, nav, satellite radio, Bluetooth and more. So I thought the best thing I can do now is to save another SAAB and give the blue one a sibling.  So we headed down to the Volvo dealer and made a terrible deal on the silver wagon that indeed had low mileage but took on some abuse from the previous owner.

Two 9-3’s find new owners.

P1180547Two of the members of South West Saab each picked up a 9-3 from Astley Saab, Yeovil on Saturday the 26th October.

Isabel Rankin of Yeovil Somerset, and Mike and Marion Barnes of Weymouth Dorset picked up their new cars from Jerry peck MD and Stuart Romain of Astleys

Isabel fell in love with the Commemorative edition Cerulean convertible when she voted for one as the car ‘I would most like to go home in’ at the very first Swedish Day, held at Haynes motor museum in Sparkford,

So much so, that back in April of this year she asked Jerry to source her very own Cerulean, but finding the right car has proved quite a challenge.

P1180543Well, that dream has now come true for Isabel, and her very first drive in her new car, a 2.0t, was with the roof down, Just the way it should be!

Friends and fellow SWS members Mike and Marion Barnes also picked up a 9-3 the same day, this time a Vector sport TID in Fusion blue, Mike’s first diesel car, having owned petrol Saabs for most of his driving life, and a break from his traditional choice of two door coupes.

Isabel, Mike and Marion would like to thank Jerry and all the staff at Astleys for their excellent service and attention, as always.
