The SAAB Of The Week for this week gives a perfect blend of function and fun. Silas George sent us a photo of his 2007 Aero all dressed up and ready for a weekend of Carolina sun with kayaks on the roof showing how versatile the Sport Combi’s are. As we are now in the summer months, I expect more and more SAAB owners are getting out there and enjoy a break from the everyday. As always, keep your photos coming to [email protected] . Silas, thank you for sharing with us all.
This week our SAAB of the week could really be called SAABs of the week. This is the photo sent to us from Gunnar and is of a nice sized fleet of 9-5s at the Munich airport in Germany. He saw five in total while waiting for his connecting flight at the home of BMW. SAAB has had a history of being used in the service industry and it is nice to see some still performing their duties and doing it well. Thanks to Gunnar for sending the photo and as always, please keep the photos coming to [email protected]
This weeks SAAB Of The Week comes from Canada. The photo was submitted a while back but has received a lot of attention on our Facebook page. This is a 2008 SAAB 9-3 that is owned by Andrew Core from Ontario, Canada. Thanks again for sending your photos and keep them coming. Send all entries to [email protected]
This weeks SAAB Of The Week comes to us from Rudy who had his 9-3 combi in the Arctic Circle in Rovaniemi, Finland. This area is pretty cool as it has in midsummer, nightless nights where the sun shines day and night and is close to the Santa Claus Village. Rovaniemi according to the website is the official home of Santa Claus. There’s something to share with the little ones. Rudy, thank you for sharing your SAAB with us and thank you for introducing me to this wonderful part of the world. As always, please keep your photos coming to [email protected].
This weeks SAAB Of The Week comes to us from Arjan and he asks us, do you prefer the old or the new? For me Arjan, I like them both but that blue is just special to me. Thanks for sending your photo in and giving us two beautiful examples of perfection. As always, please keep your photos coming to [email protected].
This week our SAAB of the week is a little different than what we normally see here. Chris sent this in a while back and rather a photo of his car it is a photo from where most of us long to be, the drivers seat. He took this picture while listening to the radio last year about the bankruptcy of SAAB and titled it looking forward to a brighter future. With all that is surfacing around us right now with arrests and silliness like that, it is nice to try to look forward to a brighter future and not get so stuck on the past. Thanks for the photo Chris and as always, keep the pictures coming to [email protected].
This week the SAAB Of The Week comes to us from Singapore. Joseph Han Kan Chou is one of the guys from SAABSTANCE Singapore and the photo has generated a lot of comments and likes on this one. The people from the SAAB club in Singapore mobilize in a way that reminds me of the different SAAB events (which they have been a part of as well) and they get the word out. I noticed when this photo was posted, people like Abel and his brother Amos Tan were getting the word out to other members of their club to show support for one of their own. There were a lot of questions about things Joseph had done to the car too and what he has done is lowered it with with 35mm springs, 20mm rear spacers, 18″ Hirsch alloys, 225/40 18″ Pirelli Pzeros. Thank you Joseph for sharing your 9-3 with us and please everyone, keep the photos coming to [email protected].
This weeks SAAB Of The Week is no real surprise to anyone who follows us on Facebook. Harald Willumsen Østbø from Norway sent us a photo of his 9-4X and 9-5 Combi both of which were bought at the KVD Auction. When this photo was posted, we saw it almost become viral with 419 likes, 34 people shared the photo in other groups and 39 comments. It’s safe to say that many of us would love to be in Haralds position and own these two fabulous SAABs but this is not all of his collection and he has promised to take a group shop of all five of his special SAABs together, including a Sonett III closer to the summer. Thank for sharing with us Harald and I look forward to the group photo. As always, keep the photos coming to [email protected].
