SOTW from Wonderland Sollefteå

Sorry for the delay with this weeks Saab of the Week. But I think its worth the wait.

Hi Robin…
I just want to share my 9-5 with the rest of the Saab world.
These pictures are taken at the “Ångermannabron” up in Sollefteå, Sweden.
Its around 9.30pm local time and the sun is still shining..
Its a 2011 9-5 Aero TTiD with around 134000km on the speedo.
I have mounted one of the nicest rims I’ve ever seen, 9×20″ Vossen CVT with 245’30’20 GoodYear. I changed the springs as well, dropping the 9-5 by around 45mm.
I have also upgraded the brakes, at the moment its the +18″, and painted red. But I will change them for the brembo brakes soon. I’m very pleased with the look right now. I have tried different splitters at the front but have not found the right one yet…

SOTW, Marco’s flying NG900

Hi Robin:
Eight years ago and I keep enjoying this gorgeous SAAB 900NG 2.0T (MY96). The acquisition was a great opportunity that I jumped. I have performed with a number of trips and kilometres (over 70K) and I hope so many years to follow.
This new generation of SAAB 900 was not the bestseller acceptance of his predecessor, the legendary 900OG. The truth is that fewer units are on our roads and few of us still believe in blindly.
Along with good friends SAAB enthusiasts also, lately I’m encouraging courses at tracks days and their behaviour is remarkable. I also enjoy and keep two units of SAAB 9-3, but this model has stolen my heart.
I hope you share this veteran SAAB for your wonderful SOTW.

SOTW, much loved TTiD

Hi. Having bought an 11 plate 93 aero a few months ago, I’ve finally got round
to sending you these images for Sotw. As a young Saab fan myself, along with
the need for a new family car for my parents after a terrible Mercedes B-
class, a saw an opportunity to persuade them into buying a Saab. As you can
see, I was more than successful and now we have this beautiful white aero,
with only 14k miles from new. As a car enthusiast Saabs really appealed to me
and I couldn’t be happier with it, from its sheer quality to the immense power
from the 180 TTID engine. When it comes to style, the Saab struggles to be
beaten and I even have plans to use it for my prom next year! It may be our
first Saab, but we are hooked, and I can’t understand why anyone would buy
anything else!

SOTW, Nathaniel’s Fighter Jet

Hello,
I’m a long time SAAB fan and Saabsunited reader, but just back in September I bought my first SAAB (it’s my first car). It’s a 2001 9-3 S, so maybe not as exciting as others’ SOTW, but to me a fantastic car. I’d love to see it as the SOTW sometime.

Zoltan and Elena from Michigan send us a few pictures of their “Saabs United”

Hi Robin!
These are our “Saabs united”. The blue one was bought during SAAB’s bankruptcy and I thought that this is going to be our last SAAB ever. This was my third SAAB and I was quite sad and sentimental about the departure of our beloved brand. On the contrary I felt lucky that I was able to purchase one last brand new SAAB. A few years later I came across an advertisement from the local Volvo dealer about a 2011 Sports Wagon. We always wanted to get a wagon but they are really hard to find in the USA now a days, specially a recent model with low mileage. I have done all the improvements on the 2010 9-3 that I could think of…DRL’s ambient interior lights, tinted windows, nav, satellite radio, Bluetooth and more. So I thought the best thing I can do now is to save another SAAB and give the blue one a sibling. So we headed down to the Volvo dealer and made a terrible deal on the silver wagon that indeed had low mileage but took on some abuse from the previous owner.

It is a 2011 Saab 9.3X 2.0t with AWD.

SOTW, Jerry taking The Wild Route in his 9-5

This weeks SOTW is from Jerry in Ireland.

Hello SU,
Please find attached photos of my 9-5.
We were the first car on the, just launched, “Wild Atlantic Way”.
I’ve also included some local shots in Cork and the 13th century Augustinian Ballybeg Abbey.
Most of the photo’s were taken on the Ring of Kerry here in Southern Ireland which is part of the Wild Atlantic Way, a 2400klm driving route on Irelands west coast, said to be the longest in the world.
What a place for a Saab Run!
