International Saab Meeting 2016The International Saab Meeting 2016 (IntSaab 2016) was held on the 12-14 of August 2016. The meeting took place in Vadstena, Sweden, a town close to the birthplace of Saab: Linköping. More than 600 Saab enthusiasts, from all over the world, attended IntSaab 2016.

The meeting included a visit to the Swedish Air Force Museum and Saab Arena in Linköping, where the Ur-Saab was on display. Saab invasion at Ramsele oldtimer meetup

Last week I went with my family on a vacation trip to the northern part of Sweden. Northern Sweden is beautiful with its vast landscapes of high mountains, deep valleys, huge forests and coast. This time of the year the sun never sets either. The scenery is breathtaking, especially behind the wheel of a Saab 9-3X.

Besides the family vacation, we also went to an oldtimer meetup in the town of Ramsele. There we met up with the Saabklubben localsection of Norrland. A member of the club had arranged for a dinner with a tour of the local power station Storfinnforsen the evening before the meetup. We even got to drive our Saabs across the dam (which, if I remember right, is the largest concrete dam in Sweden).

All Saabs are welcomed in Saabklubben and the cars on the tour ranged from Saab 93 to Saab NG9-5.

Contribute to SaabsUnited!

SaabsUnited is now managed by Svenska Saabklubben, the Swedish Saab Club, a non-profit organization since 1976 with more than 3 000 members (of which 10 % are international members). We intend to maintain the archive and history of SaabsUnited, as well as improve and expand SaabsUnited with new posts and Saab relevant content.

In the past, SaabsUnited has primarily consisted of posts by certain authors. They have done an excellent job with the site and they are all more than welcome to continue contributing here. Separate information has been sent out to them as well.

But now we need your help. All of you Saab enthusiasts, clubs and alike. We want to read about your Saab cars, projects, meet ups, thoughts and adventures. We want to see your pictures and view your videos. The Saab community is still strong, let’s show it here at SaabsUnited!

International Saab Meeting 2016: final call!

International Saab Meeting 2016The International Saab Meeting is an annual meeting arranged by Saab enthusiast clubs all over the world. The meetings are a great way to connect with fellow Saab friends that you may only have contact with through the Internet, and of course to see and experience the Saab culture in other countries.

This year the International Saab Meeting (IntSaab2016) will be held in Sweden, for the first time since 2006. The meeting will be held in the medieval town of Vadstena, by the lake Vättern, on the 12-14 of August.

Vadstena is close to the birth town of Saab: Linköping. Linköping will play an important role in IntSaab2016, as the theme for this meeting is the aeronautical heritage of Saab, complete with a historic show of the premiere demonstration of the new Saab 92.

IntSaab2016 will also feature track day activities, tours around Linköping and a visit to the Swedish Air Force Museum. In the evenings there will be dinner and a party in the court yard of Vadstena Castle. The meeting will also have a number of pre-tours (where you drive your Saabs in a caravan to the meeting) from all parts of Sweden.

There’s a registration fee of €150/75 EUR (adults/children) and approx 400 seats for IntSaab2016, where more than 350 seats already have been registered. More seats are however going to be released Saturday 12th of March at 12:00 CET+1. This is a final call if you want to visit IntSaab2016!
